This class aims to give you a good introduction to basics such as colour, drawing and composition with an emphasis on tutor-led activities and room for personal extension as your confidence and skill base builds. Creative problem solving is an inherent aspect of Brizart curriculum.
This class will often work along side the Teens Extension Art class, and when appropriate will work seperately.
This class aims to cater for the a beginner as well as those who feel there are gaps in their understanding of basics. No previous experience is needed. Over time we’ll incorporate aspects of the following:
Colour The wonder of colour mixing and colour harmonies through colour mixing exercise, viewing works by selected artists, and applying this to projects on canvas. We will be looking at ways to apply acrylic paint. Ways of applying paint will be demonstrated and you will have the opportunity to experiment, observe and apply.
Composition: The basic elements of composition and design will be introduced along the way. These are built into everything we do when creating artwork.
Students are asked to bring along the following items to their first class, these will be held in the Brizart classroom for the term.
